Pumpkins a-Plenty for Fall Decor

Pumpkins a-Plenty for Fall Decor

Ah, the humble pumpkin! From your morning coffee stop to the grocery aisles to your favorite home decor store (Mint Julep, right?) the autumn season brings pumpkin flavor to everything!  Let’s muse on ways to incorporate the pumpkin--that icon of fall--into your home decor.

First, welcome your family and friends with a festive pumpkin wreath on your door. Choose traditional fall colors if you want to…

...but non-traditional pumpkin colors--like merlot, blush and teal--open up lots of new options, too. And who doesn’t like options? Especially when we talking new fall color combos!

Next, set the fall mood with pumpkins in your foyer.  A seasonal grouping is so easy--some artwork or a wreath, some faux-liage, some candlesticks.  Then, just add pumpkins!

Your family room will definitely “fall up” with some pumpkins in your decor.  We’re thinking cozy throws and plump pumpkin pillows to snuggle against. Have some pumpkin coasters for guests’ drinks.

Set pumpkins of various materials about your family room, too--in bowls, baskets, and bins.

Don’t forget to pop some pumpkin plaques on your bookshelf or countertop for a cheery seasonal accent.

Hang a sweet pumpkin garland from your buffet, console or mantel.

And of course your table tops present a blank canvas for pumpkin decor to the max.

From table linens to place settings, pumpkins reign supreme in the fall!

Your serveware, too, can get in on the pumpkin action. Make your guests feel extra special by bringing out your seasonal serving pieces. (Salad in a pumpkin bowl? Green bean casserole in a pumpkin-lidded baker? Yes, please!)

Raise your pumpkins to objets d’art by literally raising them on risers like cake stands and tiered trays.

Naturally, your fall florals will have to include some pumpkins, as well.

Even if you’re not a fan of orange, pumpkins are available in so many colors and materials, there’s no reason not to celebrate fall at home with a pumpkin-palooza!
